Amid the cancellation (due to COVID-19) of their spring production, the production team and junior production studio at Reed College re-grouped to organize a radio-play performed over Zoom. War of the Worlds examines themes of colonialism, scientific development, government misinformation, and the complicated relationship between the public and the institutions we enable. Simultaneously sci-fi escapism and commentary on a world in crisis, this work presented a unique set of challenges and opportunities, in both content and form.
